Mild steel weldmesh & weavemesh
Rite Way Fencing Mild Steel Woven and Welded Wire Mesh
Mild steel (sometimes referred to as “plain” steel) is a material that consists mainly of carbon and iron. Mild steel is a very attractive option for a wide range of applications due to its relatively low cost compared to other materials as well as its wide variety of applications. These applications include guarding, railing infills, cabinetry and millwork, and filtration.
One thing that must be taken into consideration when working with mild steel is that bare mild steel will rust and corrode over time. In some cases even the moisture in the air in indoor applications can cause bare mild steel to rust. A slightly more expensive alternative to this would be our stainless steel woven and welded wire mesh line of products which are rust and corrosion resistant and suitable for outdoor use. Powder coating and plating options are available for all of our mild steel products, for more information about our finishing options please contact us.

Mild steel mesh can be used in both industrial and design applications. One project worth noting that utilized mild steel woven wire mesh for its design capabilities was a wine cellar door project. This project utilized our mild steel 4 x 4 x .047” woven pattern for infills on a wine cellar door. The use of this material allowed for partial transparency when looking at the wine cellar through the doors, creating an interesting visual appeal to the cellar.
